LAST HOUR AND A HALF TO VOTE!!!
We at Art Share are VERY close in the running to get a huge grant. I WOULD LOVE YOUR VOTE, no dough, thank you, just that vote. Yes there is a quick registration for the organization, but it’s not an obnoxious group, so if you could (and haven’t voted already) it would be great. Here’s the deal if this is news to you:

In 2012, under a brand new board and staff of 1, Art Share re-opened the doors to host over 2 dozen concerts, 6 gallery exhibitions, a free summer event series and a 10-day community festival. With momentum from the events in 2012, Art Share relaunched it’s educational programs in February of 2013.
The demand for Art Share’s space and services is beyond supply. Our Saturdays are booked with community events through mid-July! We get requests for the space on a daily basis–everything from drawing workshops, to rehearsal space, to theatrical performances, to poetry readings, to community meet-ups and on and on and on… CA Lawyers for the Arts heard about us and sought us out as a co-presenter. The Robotics Club (with over 1,500 members) has sought us out as a co-presenter. The magnitude of artists and organization we’re attracting will only continue to climb.
While we’ve managed to make it this far with a staff of one, it can’t last much longer. We NEED to hire staff. We need to formalize our outreach and marketing. We need to have a clear strategy for short and long-term fundraising. We need to form a program board consisting of our artistic collaborators. We need time to assess so we can move forward in confidence.
WE NEED YOUR VOTES! If Art Share is awarded 1 of the 10 LA2050 grants, we will be able to accomplish all of this. We will be able to immediately hire 6-10 part time staff. We will bring on a team of 3 consultants to work with our organization specifically in the areas of assessment, marketing and fundraising. We will have marketing budget to allow for website development and traditional medium. We will operate smoothly and work towards our full potential. With this grant, Art Share will become fully sustainable in 6 months and the 6-10 part time jobs created will carry well into the future.
